에스더 강해 9

이번 주 설교 본문은 에스더 9:1~32절입니다.

제목은 ‘두려워하여’입니다.

왕의 조서를 단기간에 바꾸었으니

소식을 들은 대부분의 사람들이

유대인들에 대해 두려워하였습니다(8:17, 9:2, 3).

아직 조서가 실행되기 전이 이 정도였는데

아달월 열 둘째 달 십삼일에 벌어진 일은

‘모든 대적들을 도륙하고 진멸하고

자기를 미워하는 자에게 마음대로 행하고

유다인이 또 도성 수산에서

오백 명을 죽이고 진멸하고,,,

곧 함므다다의 손자요 유다인의 대적

하만의 열 아들을 죽였으나’(9:5~10).

왕의 만류에도 불구하고 에스더가 간청하여

‘아달월 십사일에도 수산에 있는 유다인이 모여

또 삼백 명을 수산에서 도륙하되,,,,

자기들을 미워하는 자 칠만 오천 명을 도륙하되’(9:15~16).

과연 유대인은 두려움의 아이콘이 될 정도입니다.

유대인으로서는 이 날을 기념하여

부림절이라는 절기를 만들 수 있습니다.

성경에 나오는 절기들은

‘유대인의 절기’가 아니라

‘여호와의 절기’입니다.
