에스라 강해 20

 

이번 주 설교 본문은 에스라 10:5~44절입니다.

제목은 ‘쫓아내리라’입니다.

 

하나님은

인격적인 분이십니다.

창조주요 주권자이시지만

인간 위에 군림하지 않으시고

어떠한 명분, 일로 인해서도

인간을 위협, 협박하지 않으십니다.

 

반대로 죄인들은

하나님을 위한다는 명분으로

하나님도 하지 않은 권력을 부립니다.

‘당신의 말씀을 순종하지 아니하는 자는

죽임을 당하리니’(수1:18),

‘한 겨리의 소를 잡아 각을 뜨고,,,

누구든지 나와서 사울과 사무엘을 따르지 아니하면

그의 소들도 이와 같이 하리라’(삼상11:7),

그리고 에스라도

‘삼일 내에 오지 아니하면

그의 재산을 적몰하고

사로잡혔던 자의 모임에서 쫓아내리라’(스10:8)입니다.

 

하나님은

하나님이 친히 하실 일을 말씀하시고

맹세로 확증하여 주십니다.

인간에게 맹세를 요구하지 않으십니다.

그런데 에스라는 맹세를 강요합니다.

하나님의 마음과 뜻과 원리로 행하지 않는

사역이 하나님에게 의미가 있을까요?

5.이에 에스라가 일어나 제사장들과 레위 사람들과 온 이스라엘에게 이 말대로 행하기를 맹세하게 하매 무리가 맹세하는지라 6.이에 에스라가 하나님의 성전 앞에서 일어나 엘리아십의 아들 여호하난의 방으로 들어가니라 그가 들어가서 사로잡혔던 자들의 죄를 근심하여 음식도 먹지 아니하며 물도 마시지 아니하더니 7.유다와 예루살렘에 사로잡혔던 자들의 자손들에게 공포하기를 너희는 예루살렘으로 모이라 8.누구든지 방백들과 장로들의 훈시를 따라 삼일 내에 오지 아니하면 그의 재산을 적몰하고 사로잡혔던 자의 모임에서 쫓아내리라 하매

5.이 말을 듣고 에즈라는 일어나 사제장들과 레위인들을 비롯하여 온 이스라엘에게 그 말대로 따르겠다는 맹세를 하게 하였다. 사람들은 그대로 맹세하였다. 6.그제야 에즈라는 하느님의 전 앞을 떠나 엘랴십의 아들 여호하난의 집으로 갔다. 그러나 거기 묵으면서도 떡을 먹거나 물을 마시지는 않았다. 포로 생활까지 한 자들이 하느님을 다시 배반한 사실이 너무나도 서글펐던 것이다. 7.사로잡혀 갔다 온 사람들은 다 예루살렘으로 모이라는 전갈이 유다와 예루살렘에 전하여졌으며, 8.누구든지 사흘 안에 오지 않으면 민족의 어른들과 장로들의 뜻을 따라 재산을 몰수하고 포로 귀환민 교단에서 추방한다는 선포가 있었다.

5.그래서 에스라는 일어나 제사장과 레위인의 지도자들과 거기에 모인 모든 백성들에게 스가냐의 제의에 따르겠다는 맹세를 하게 하고 6.성전 앞에서 물러나 엘리아십의 아들 여호하난의 방으로 들어가서 백성들의 죄를 슬퍼하며 아무것도 먹지 않고 마시지도 않았다. 7.그 후에 모든 귀환자들은 예루살렘에 모이라는 포고령이 유다와 예루살렘 전역에 공포되었다. 8.그 내용은 누구든지 3일 이내에 예루살렘에 오지 않으면 지도자들의 결정에 따라 그의 전재산을 몰수하고 귀환자 집단에서 추방하겠다는 것이었다.

5.So Ezra began by making the leaders of the priests, of the Levites, and of the rest of the people take an oath that they would do what Shecaniah had proposed. 6.Then he went from in front of the Temple into the living quarters of Jehohanan son of Eliashib, and spent the night there grieving over the unfaithfulness of the exiles. He did not eat or drink anything. 7.A message was sent throughout Jerusalem and Judah that all those who had returned from exile were to meet in Jerusalem by order of the leaders of the people. If anyone failed to come within three days, all his property would be confiscated, and he would lose his right to be a member of the community.
